Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
Nate / Tracey, yes the reason a lot of the 'old' shows in .shn (it was the file format preference at the time of 2002/2004) do not have mp3s is only because they haven't 'been run'. Most bands that don't have mp3s have it as a format request that they want lossless only (example jason mraz and howie day).
we have been thinking about doing a 'mass-mp3-generation' day where our servers would go through and 're-run' the derive.php task on ALL the shows and if they were a band that didn't want mp3s they would still be blocked from being made (from the CAT.lossy file i believe).
if you have specific 'old' shows you want mp3s made of, post them here and i'll re-run the file derive.php task and make them.
but as far as a whole 'rerun' everything... we will try and bring that back up soon to discuss!

Re: new video/audio player 'opt in' is live! |
hey tyler!
right, i know very well about the _rules.conf and how there can be show-based rules as well as band-based rules.
i guess part of a scheme could be to try to recontact any band that prohibited mp3/ogg in the past and see if they still feel the same.
re-deriving audio is cheap/easy! 8-)
